A traditional time-honoured art form passed on from generation to generation of skilled Egyptian artisan family, and practiced in Egypt since the Fatimite period, capturing the influence and essence of the Arabesque art and architecture of the period in each exquisite piece.
Each piece of the chess table is individually made by sculpting and carving the Egyptian Zan wood foundation by hand, then intricately hand inlaid with Mother of Pearl in complex geometric patterns. The pieces are finished with lacquer to seal the wood sculpting and detailed Mother of Pearl inlay artwork to create a timeless Egyptian art antique collectable. Chess pieces are hand-crafted from camel bone and buffallo horn.
